City Commission News

Curbside Pick Up
Saturday, May 21
Items must be placed at the curb by 7:00 am. No alley collections will be made.
Items picked up at curb: Items made mostly of wood, plastics, glass, cloth or ceramic, box springs, mattresses, carpet (cut into manageable sizes), sofas, tv sets, computers, bathroom stools and sinks, tree branches (no longer than 3 feet in length and bundled).
Items that will NOT be picked up at your curb: Metal items, tires, used oil or excessive amounts of any item that should be hauled to a dump ground.
Resident drop off at the City Compound will be available:
Monday – Thursday (May 16-19) from 3:00 – 7:00 pm
Friday, May 20 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
Metal items (including appliances), used tires and batteries will be accepted at the city compound.
Roll-offs will be located there for these items. To get to the city compound from Main Avenue go south on 11th street and follow that road.
Regular meetings of the Washburn City Commission are held the second Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall (907 Main Avenue), however, due to scheduling are sometimes held on alternative dates.
All meetings are open to the public. Agendas of regular Commission meetings are available in advance from the City Office. All speakers must be placed on the agenda by Friday noon, the week prior to the meeting. Upon written or phone request, City personnel will answer questions about Commission business and add items to meeting agendas.
Washburn City Hall is open 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Offices are closed on all major holidays, although emergency contact is available for residents in need.
